Rotated around the pivot point until all three points are in line, ensuring that once the biopsy needle is passed through the trajectory guide the target will be encountered. Depending on the imaging characteristics of the target, the alignment stem can be filled either with saline or a saline and contrast mixture that allows it to be seen during the biopsy. After the alignment stem is inserted into the guide tube, it is rotated freely in space until all three points are aligned. This action generally takes two to five minutes while using ioMRI updates in near-realtime. Imaging along the entire length of the alignment stem in two different planes, depending where the target is located, verifies visually that the brain biopsy path is safe and accurate. Once the alignment has been established, the guide tube is secured in place and the biopsy needle is passed in a gradual step-wise fashion toward the target through the brain see Figure 2 ; . While the biopsy sample is being reviewed by the pathologist to confirm that diagnostic tissue is present, a series of three axial scans is performed to exclude the presence of intra-operative hemorrhage that may result from the biopsy. To test the hypothesis that proliferation of T cells in response to alloantigen resulted in GvHD and increased engraftment, we pretreated naive T cells with photochemical therapy PCT ; using S-59 psoralen and UVA light to prevent proliferation. GvHD was reduced 60 0% ; , but was also associated with a significant reduction in engrafted donor cells 53.4 4.2 to 1.7 0.5% ; . However, when B6 T cells were sensitized to BALB c splenocytes, treated with PCT, and coinjected with TCDBM, there was a partial restoration of engraftment 13.3 2.4% H2Kb cells ; with only one of nine animals developing mild to moderate GvHD. As announced in our 2003 Report and Accounts published in July 2003, we have embarked on a further Strategy for Growth with specific targets in place for the three years ending April 2006. The increase in earnings per share of 17.8% to 25.1p 2002 - 21.3p ; for the period on which we are reporting represents an excellent start. Once again, our business model has demonstrated its robust nature in dealing with the challenging market conditions that were experienced during the summer and to which I specifically referred in my trading statement at the time of our AGM in September 2003. In addition credit is due to management for taking prompt action through concerted marketing combined with cost reductions, whilst at the same time ensuring that hire rates and our policy of maintaining fleet utilisation were not compromised. The Group's share of Fualsa's operating profit for the six months increased to 2.2m as against 0.8m in the comparative period: the latter period, however, represented only four months of trading following the Group's initial investment in July 2002.
